  • Nude in Winter (from Tupelo Press, December, 2006) is a wide-ranging collection of ekphrastic poems which explores the intertwined lives of painter and painted and the powerful dynamic between desire and disturbance it can yield.

Because I live in a rural area, my primary teaching consists of one-to-one mentorships with individual students.  Working in this way allows a student to shape the course of study.  Some students want to work with me on a limited basis, perhaps four or five sessions, in order to get feedback on current work.  Others want a long-term, regular exchange by mail in order to work on the craft of poetry.  Still others have chapbooks or full-length manuscripts that they’d like to prepare for publication.  I try to be extremely flexible in what I offer and to charge people accordingly.  If you want more details and wish to contact me, please use the form on the Contact page.
